Digital Literacy Instructor (PT)

The Plainfield Public Library is looking for three Part-Time Digital Literacy instructors with excellent technology and communication skills to deliver computer related courses (basics, Office Suite, etc.) to adults in an In-person and online  environment.

Candidates should have experience teaching adult learners in a classroom setting and/or with conferencing tools or leading training sessions in a variety of formats that may include in person, virtual and/or webinar.

Candidates should have intermediate to advanced computer skills including high-level proficiency with Microsoft Office.
The employee will be expected to troubleshoot basic technical issues as they arise
These are 10-20 hr/week positions. There are multiple openings with day and evening hours available.

This grant-funded temporary position pays $20-25/hour with no benefits. It is expected to run through 09/15/22 with the possibility of continuation contingent on funding.

Required:
  • Teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience 
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to creatively deliver training materials in an In-person and online setting
  • Ability to effectively, and confidently, present information and respond to questions in a real time environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support.
  • Ability to comply with record keeping protocols
  • Experience with GoToTraining or other conferencing tools.
Desirable experience, skills & attributes include:
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Knowledge of the IC3 and MOS certifications.

Digital Media Production Specialist (PT)

The Plainfield Public Library is looking for a part time Digital Media Production Specialist to help produce high quality training and educational videos and other forms of digital media. They will work collaboratively with our staff of instructors. Production facilities and equipment will be available on-site.

This 10-20 hrs/week grant-funded temporary position pays $25/hour with no benefits. It is expected to run through 9/15/22 with the possibility of continuation contingent on funding.

Candidates should provide a portfolio of high quality video editing projects.

Required:

  • Experience with professional video editing programs /Final Cut Pro/Adobe Premiere/DaVinci Resolve
  • Working knowledge of audio editing software/DAWs/plugins
  • Working knowledge of video cameras and lighting
  • Experience creating and uploading edited materials to social media destinations
  • Knowledge of restrictions and formats for different destinations
  • Working knowledge of good copyright practice
  • Ability to offer creative solutions to production requirements
  • Ability to devise and structure effective workflows for digital media production
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with other producers to receive and work with their materials
  • Ability to train and assist others to produce 'raw materials' in effective ways with aim of making them more independent.
  • Ability to maintain a library of reusable digital media and devise formats that effectively use replaceable and standard parts to speed up and improve quality of production. (E.g. standard idents/logos/graphic elements/intros etc)
