2023 October 31

The Plainfield Public Library is pleased to announce it has gone “Fine Free” for Children’s and Young Adult materials.  Libraries offer a myriad of services for the community and many have adopted this measure in order to remove financial barriers that may impede its use. In addition, all previously acquired late and lost fees for Children and Young Adult books have been forgiven.  Going forward, no late fees will accrue on these materials regardless of the age of the person checking them out.  Fees will continue to apply to lost or damages books.

Children and Young Adult books checked out on a patron’s account will continue to have a due date and though there won’t be a financial penalty for not returning them on time, the library highly encourages their prompt return to ensure they can be accessed and enjoyed by others.
