Community Events Policy
Plainfield Public Library will post special events on its web calendar as a community service.
- Information must be received at least 5 working days before the event.
- The Library intends to post only certain fields of information, including:
- Date; Time; Name of Event; Location; Sponsor/Contact Person; Phone, E-mail, or URL Link
- If incomplete information is posted, the Library will not revise postings. It will correct any misinformation it might inadvertently publish.
- Questions about admission costs should be directed to the sponsoring organization.
- Events must be open to all, or reasonable limitations, e.g. adults only or children’s event.
- Examples of Acceptable Events:
- Non-partisan programs
- Non-sectarian programs
- Events located in Plainfield
- Countywide events of interest to Plainfield residents
- Fundraising events for 501c3 organizations. Ex. House & garden tours, musical performances, tributes, health fairs, etc.
- Examples of Unacceptable Events:
- Political or religious events
- Events coinciding with Library events
- Regular group meetings
The Library Director and the Assistant Library Director will be solely responsible for determining the suitability of a posting. No community event will be posted without their review and approval.
