The Library needs your help! To make a donation or for more information about donating to the Library please click on the "Donate" button below to donate online via Paypal or contact the Administration office at 908-757-2305.
Are my donations to the Plainfield Public Library tax deductible?
Yes! Donations to the Plainfield Public Library are tax deductible. While the Plainfield Public Library is not a 501(c) (3), per the IRS, as a governmental entity/subdivision/instrumentality, donations are still tax deductible https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p526.pdf. The Plainfield Public Library will be glad to provide a letter on official letterhead thanking you for your donation and listing the amount of the donation, which can be utilized by your tax preparer in the exact same manner as they would handle a donation to a 501 (c) (3).
If you would like your donation to benefit a specific Library department or program, please specifiy that when making your donation.
Book Donations
The Library is not currently accepting book donations at this time.
The Better World Books bin has been removed due to issues with materials being stacked up around the box creating a safety hazard, damaging of materials, and unsighltly conditions.
Local History Department Material Donations
The Local History department is dedicated to preserving the history of Plainfield, New Jersey, and its residents. Many collections in Local History -- especially the photograph and postcard collections -- have been enhanced by donations from Plainfield residents and their descendants all over the country.
